CALLING ALL GREATER TORONTO-AREA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:

THE UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO YOUTH LEADERSHIP SEMINAR
in conjunction with the University of Toronto Model Parliament
A unique opportunity for leadership development and university prep, sponsored by Canada leading institution for higher learning.

Saturday March 12, 2011 – Sunday March 13, 2011
Wednesday March 16, 2011 – Friday March 18, 2011
University of Toronto & The Ontario Legislative Assembly

This isn’t your Grade 10 Civics class. Join 107 high-school students from across the country for an intensive one-week conference experience. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Canadian governance and public affairs – not by watching, but by debating for three days at the Ontario Legislative Assembly.

Delegates will have the opportunity to explore contemporary issues facing Canadian policy-makers in specially designed seminars and workshops. The programming will take place in the Munk School of Global Affairs at Trinity College on Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13, 2011. Participants will have the opportunity to forge meaningful connections with university students from across the country during three days of parliamentary simulation, held in the Ontario Legislative Assembly at Queen’s Park. Leading figures in Canadian politics and public affairs will also be appearing at various points during the seminar to present talks and engage with delegates. You will also be invited to the Inaugural Ball, a reception co-hosted with University of Toronto undergraduates.

The University of Toronto Youth Leadership Seminar also seeks to provide delegates with a head-start when applying for post-secondary education. The program will offer specialized seminars on managing the transition into university, and will have classes on several core skills including adaptation to lecture format, writing university-level research papers and exploring a broad spectrum of information resources. All delegates will receive a personal Certificate of Completion in recognition of their efforts during the Leadership Seminar. The Leadership Seminar is open to youth who are between Grades 9 and 12 and are currently enrolled at a Canadian high school.

Register before February 15, 2011, and pay only $99.00
