Michelle Murray is the Acting Executive Director of the Halton Industry Education Council. Michelle
joined HIEC in 2003, and served first as the Passport to Prosperity Coordinator and later as Manager
of Events & School Programs. Throughout her time with HIEC, Michelle has played a key role in the
development of events and programs relating to mentorship, employer outreach and community
engagement.

Michelle has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Guelph, and a Post-Graduate Diploma
in Human Services Administration from the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.
She has served on steering committees and advisories for the Halton District School Board, Halton
Catholic District School Board, School College Work initiative, and several other community groups.

Michelle is passionate about bringing innovative and inspiring programs and events to the wider
community, connecting stakeholders from business, industry, education and government. Among
other accomplishments at HIEC, Michelle has been instrumental in the development and execution of
the highly-regarded Women as Career Coaches mentoring event and the successful implementation
of EmployerRegistry.ca, a province-wide online community for employers and experiential learning
teachers.
