Specialist High Skills Major opens "store" in Seaway Mall

On December 23rd, Niagara Catholic celebrated the opening of a new “store” at the Seaway Mall in Welland, staffed by students in the Niagara Catholic Construction Specialist High Skills Major.

Under the guidance of Joe Sciarra, students will be building cedar benches and selling them to the public, with proceeds going to St. Kevin’s food bank. The Seaway Mall has donated a unit outside of Zellers for the students to use throughout January. Mall management has also permitted the Extreme Tech Ed trailer to be set up inside the mall.

This project is a great opportunity to highlight the program, our students and to help the community.
